She described her two daughters as terrorists.. Michelle Obama: I have not divorced my husband for 10 years

US First Lady Michelle Obama revealed that she "couldn't stand" her husband, former US President Barack Obama, when their two daughters were young.

Mrs. Obama, 58, also described her daughters, Sasha and Malia, as "terrorists" when they were young, and that she and her husband struggled to advance their careers when Obama took office.

Speaking to the Revolt newspaper in early December, she said: "People think I'm impolite for saying things like that, but in fact it's been 10 years since I didn't talk to my husband.

And she goes on, "During this period in which we were trying to build our careers, and seeking to educate our daughters, and what we should do, he was not interested in many things."

She also says that the concerns of marital life "are not always 50/50 between the spouses. There are times when I bear 70% of the burden, and he bears the rest. There are times when I bear 60% of the burden, but imagine that it is a full ten years."

Malia, 24, and Sasha, who is 21 at the moment, were 7 and 10 years old when their family moved into the White House.

Michelle also described her two daughters as "terrorists" when they were young - saying, "They had a lot of pressing demands."

"The two little girls terrorize us with their repeated demands. They don't talk much. They are weak. They cry all the time. They need support. We love them. We can't blame them, right? So they make each other angry."

But Michelle says that despite her differences with her husband, she has always respected him.

And she adds: "I mean, I may be angry with him, but I still love him, because during that period I was not happy with him, but I respected him, and I did not agree with him, but in my opinion he was a nice and intelligent person?"

"Emotions change over time," she says.

Barack and Michelle met at a Chicago law firm in 1989. Their net worth is now said to be around $70 million.

Sources indicate that the deal for their memoirs in 2017 brought them $65 million, and Netflix estimated the deal at around $50 million.
