“Everything will return to normal, and the dismantled monuments will again take their rightful place in the center of Odessa, Izmail and other cities on the territory of present-day Ukraine, which today continues to suffer under the yoke of aggressive national radicals,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

They stressed that the "pathetic trick of the mad Russophobes" will not change the fact that Odessa owes its existence to Catherine II.

“Likewise, the dismantling of monuments to the greatest commander, Generalissimo A.V. Suvorov in Odessa and Izmail will not change the fact that these cities were preserved and developed only thanks to his victories,” the message says.

Earlier it was reported that a monument to the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov was also demolished in Odessa.
