Putin approved the law on the creation in Russia of a single database of genetic information

The information system "National Genetic Information Base" is being created to ensure national security, protect the life and health of citizens.

This system is needed to guarantee sovereignty in the field of storage and use of genetic data and to exchange information between government agencies and holders of genetic data.

In addition, the document defines the concept of genetic information.

Earlier, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Svetlana Bessarab, commented in an interview with RT on a proposal to conduct mandatory genetic tests for orphans.
