Recently, as a result of Corona 19 tests on travelers from China at Milan Airport in Italy, it was found that one out of two was positive.

According to Bloomberg News and local media on the 28th (local time), Italian health authorities tested Corona 19 for passengers from Beijing and Shanghai, China, who entered Milan Malpensa International Airport on the 26th.

As a result, 35 out of 92 (38%) on the first flight and 62 out of 120 (52%) on the second flight tested positive for COVID-19.

It is reported that most of them did not show any symptoms.

Previously, the northern Italian state of Lombardy requested Milan Malpensa International Airport to conduct PCR tests on all inbound travelers from China, CNN reported.

With a number of confirmed cases at the airport, Italian health authorities have made it mandatory for all passengers arriving from China to be tested for COVID-19.

Italian Health Minister Oraccio Schillazzi said, "Corona 19 testing is very important to determine if a new variant is emerging," and said he had sent a letter to the European Commission asking for similar action.

Minister Skillaci did not mention measures against confirmed arrivals, but said that they would be quarantined in facilities secured by local health authorities, Reuters reported, citing senior officials in Lombardy and Lazio.

Foreign media reported that Italy was the first to be hit in Europe with large-scale infections and deaths in the early days of the Corona 19 incident in 2020, and is reacting sensitively to the re-proliferation of Corona 19 from China.

Health authorities in each country, including Italy, are particularly watching whether a new mutant virus will be discovered.

As China rapidly eased quarantine regulations amid a surge in corona19 confirmed cases, many countries are strengthening their vigilance, fearing the spread.

The United States, India, Japan, Taiwan, etc. have taken measures such as requiring a negative corona19 test certificate or making testing compulsory.
