The company that wants to build the wind farm off the coast of Skurup and Trelleborg, Kustvind AB, is now making new attempts to gain public opinion on the divided issue.

The company attracts the residents of the two municipalities with electricity prices of a maximum of 89 öre per kilowatt hour for ten years for the electricity produced from their wind turbines.

- The clearest benefit that local electricity production can provide is if it can lead to lower electricity prices.

Here we can offer high-cost protection to dampen the price shock when electricity is most expensive, says Magnus Jiborn, CEO of AB Kustvind.

Wind farms are met with resistance

It is about the approximately 30 wind turbines that the company wants to place eight to 15 kilometers out to sea outside Abbekås.

Wind turbines that can be 300 meters high.

But so far, the plans have been opposed by both residents and the municipalities.

Neither Skurup nor Trelleborg's municipalities have given their approval to the wind farm.

- We say no, it will have a negative impact on the quality of life for the residents, but also affect business, tourism and the environment, Johan Bolinder, chairman of the municipal board in Skurup, has previously told SVT.

Maximum price of 89 öre per kilowatt hour

The residents of Skurup and Trelleborg are now offered an electricity price of a maximum of 89 öre per kilowatt-hour, an offer that Magnus Jinder hopes many will take up to create opionion.

And that the politicians listen to it and change their minds.

- We have always been convinced that there is broad support for offshore wind turbines, but that they are quiet.

This is something we can take into account in our calculations, he says.
