In the Kherson region, a 54-year-old agent of the Ukrainian special services was detained, who transmitted data about the Russian Armed Forces.

“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the territory of the Kherson region detained an agent of the Ukrainian special services who collected information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Its tasks included collecting and sending information about the locations, the number of units of the RF Armed Forces, the routes of their movement and the types of equipment and weapons used in the special military operation with reference to maps of the area and geographic coordinates.

It is noted that these data were transmitted to a staff member of the SBU via the WhatsApp messenger for the subsequent sending of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to correct artillery and missile and bomb attacks on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces.

Investigators of the FSB department for Crimea and Sevastopol opened a criminal case under Art.

276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Espionage”).

The sanction under this article is up to 20 years in prison.

He was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
