Only two other skiers have already reached these heights: her compatriot Lindsey Vonn holds the women's record with 82 World Cup trophies and Sweden's Ingemar Stenmark the absolute record (86).

At this rate, Shiffrin could bring them both down this winter.

To join Vonn, the latest ski superstar, who retired in 2019, Shiffrin could take advantage of the beginning of January and her series of technical events (slalom / giant), where she is the most regular.

The calendar includes two slaloms in Zagreb on January 4 and 5 before two giants in Kranjska Gora (Slovenia) on January 7 and 8 then a new slalom on January 10 in Flachau (Austria).

At 27, the queen of skiing already has four large crystal globes, the last of which was gleaned in the spring, six world titles (eleven medals) and two Olympic titles (three medals).

In the World Cup, her statistics are incredible: in 230 starts for more than eleven years, she has climbed on 127 podiums for 80 victories, more than one race in three, all disciplines combined.

Fifty of his victories have been in slalom, a record in a single discipline.

four in a row

Thursday, she first created the gaps in the first run before holding the shock on the second track to beat her compatriot Paula Moltzan (29/100), who climbed on her first podium in slalom, and the German Lena Dürr (at 34/100).

"Paula was amazing! She could have won. It's amazing to share that with her. I don't have much to say about the 80 win number. the atmosphere!" Shiffrin reacted after the race.

The skier from Vail (Colorado) thus collected her third victory in three days at Semmering after the two giants of Tuesday and Wednesday.

It is even his sixth success of the season in twelve starts, his fourth consecutive after the super-G of Saint-Moritz (Switzerland) on December 18, approaching his best successful series in 2018 (5 in a row).

Despite her place as world N.1 in the spring, this domination this season was not obvious after the failure she had experienced at the last Olympic Games in Beijing in February.

Usually so reliable, she had gone out three times in her strong disciplines (slalom, giant, combined) and had not won any medals.

"Failure doesn't make you a loser," she finally understood to bounce back, as she says on her vlog.

The only Frenchwoman to qualify in the second heat, Nastasia Noens took 18th place.
