It was this summer that an elderly woman was attacked and raped by an unknown man in her home in Dals-Ed.

In connection with the assault, the woman fell and injured her back and had to be taken to hospital.

It was the woman's husband who alerted the police after the assault.

The 16-year-old, who has now turned 17, was arrested the day after the crime.

He and the woman were not previously acquainted

Increased penalties and damages

Gothenburg District Court has previously sentenced the boy to five months of closed youth care for the rape and another case of sexual molestation.

He appealed because he wanted to be acquitted.

Now instead, the Court of Appeal for Western Sweden stiffens the sentence to seven months of closed youth care, which GT was the first to tell.

The boy must also pay damages to the woman of just over SEK 235,000.
