The fire which caused the death of two children aged 7 and 11 on Saturday in a house in Selles (Eure) claimed a third victim, their 13-year-old sister who died on Tuesday, the Evreux prosecution said.

“The death of the third victim, aged 13, was confirmed last night [Tuesday].

The investigation is continuing with the hearings of family members and occupants of the accommodation, ”said Christophe Salort, deputy public prosecutor of Évreux, on Wednesday.

Four generations of the same family reunited for Christmas

The young teenager, extricated from the blaze in cardiorespiratory arrest on Saturday, had been evacuated "in absolute urgency" by helicopter to a Parisian hospital.

In total, five adults and five children, four generations of the same family reunited for Christmas, were in this second home near Pont-Audemer.

The people present in the house on the night of the events came from Yvelines, Paris (16th century), Saône-et-Loire and Switzerland, said the magistrate.

The firefighters were alerted to the incident around 3:45 a.m. and arrived quickly on the scene, but the fire was already very advanced and the Norman farmhouse was engulfed in flames.
