In order to reduce the time required for J-Alert, the national instant warning system, the government has decided to expand the target areas of each prefecture.

The government's J alert was activated when North Korea launched ballistic missiles in October and November this year, but there are cases where the transmission of information calling for vigilance is delayed from the time when it was expected to pass over Japan. was.

For this reason, the government has decided to expand the target area more than now in order to shorten the time until information is disseminated.

Currently, it is sent out by prefecture, but it is said that it will take too much time to analyze the information to narrow down the target area, so it will be sent to a wide range, including neighboring municipalities.

It is expected that the time to send information can be shortened by about 1 minute compared to when J-Alert was activated in October.

Since it will take about half a year to repair the system, the government is accelerating the work with the aim of starting operation around next summer.
