“If Ukraine proposes to hold an international peace summit, then Kyiv primarily seeks diplomatic and political benefits, and not serious negotiations with Russia,” the publication says.
It is noted that the Ukrainian authorities are aware that the conflict has become a heavy burden for the population of Western countries, so more and more people are in favor of peace negotiations.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that Kyiv wants to hold a peace summit at the UN by the end of February.
According to him, Russia should have been invited to this event after the supposedly necessary international court.
Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN, said that a "peace summit" without Russia's participation in it is impossible.
