Finland's counterintelligence service strives to intervene in illegal intelligence activities even before they cross the criminal threshold.

According to the Swedish Security Service, Russia is actively spying on all Nordic countries.

The other major player in espionage is China.

In Sweden and Norway, several spies who worked for Russia have been revealed.

Even in Finland, they are preparing for several espionage attempts that have now been revealed in the country.

Two of the cases are being investigated in Oulu and one in Vederlax in southeastern Finland near the Russian border.

Police are tight-lipped about the details of the cases and have not released any details about where or when the suspected crimes allegedly took place.

According to the National Security Police, there are always tens of people in Finland who are employed by other countries' intelligence services.

The security police comment on the matter on the video, but only on a general level.

- If we can establish that a foreign intelligence officer is showing interest in a person, we contact that person and tell them who he or she is really dealing with.

Most often they break off contact, says special researcher Petteri Lalu from the Swedish Security Service.
