After several weeks of truce linked to the Football World Cup, FC Annecy signed a convincing comeback on Monday as they won against Saint-Etienne (2-1).

But at the end of the meeting, the situation degenerated.

A brawl broke out between around twenty people, reports

The police anti-criminal brigade was alerted by the Annecy club (Haute-Savoie) shortly after 11 p.m.

A canine brigade also visited the scene.

According to the police, the brawl took place inside the stadium, near the refreshments.

Several people were reportedly hit in the face.

A civil servant was also attacked by a man who participated in the brawl.

After being insulted and beaten, he received three stitches.

The 26-year-old man responsible for the violence was arrested and placed in police custody where he admitted the facts.

Originally from Savoy, he will be tried in May.
