Late one evening in November, the suspected robber, a 45-year-old man, attacked the elderly couple in Eskilstuna.
According to the indictment, he forced his way into the apartment and assaulted the elderly man while searching the home for valuables.
The robber stole jewellery, medicine and computers, among other things.
Fasten with electric cable
Before the man left the home, he must have bound the couple with an electric cable each and turned off the main switch.
During the course of events, the man threatened the couple with an attack.
Both the man and the woman received marks on their bodies after being tied with electrical cables.
The man was arrested later in the evening and was detained for a couple of weeks before he was released on bail.
Protracted process
The prosecutor believes that the crime is serious because the sequence of events was prolonged and because the suspected perpetrator recklessly took advantage of the couple's defenseless and vulnerable position.
He is also said to have shown suggestibility by pretending to be a police officer.
The man, who is suspected of having been under the influence of drugs, has admitted to the robbery during questioning.
