Incheon Ganghwa-gun sent a disaster text message saying that an unmanned aerial vehicle was observed in the Seokmodo area today (27th), but as a result of confirmation by the military authorities, it turned out to be a flock of birds.

According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the military captured a track believed to be a North Korean drone in the area of Ganghwa-gun around 1:00 pm today and deployed strike assets while tracking it until 4:00 pm.

Air Force fighter jets scrambled and confirmed that it was not an unmanned aerial vehicle, but a flock of birds, the military authorities said.

Previously, Ganghwa-gun sent a disaster text message saying that a drone was observed in the Seokmodo area around 3 pm on the same day.

An official from Ganghwa-gun explained, "I received a call from Incheon City this afternoon that a drone has appeared again."

Ganghwa-gun made two announcements at 2:43 and 45 p.m. in Samsan-myeon and Seodo-myeon, asking residents to pay attention.

On this day, fishing boats and passenger boats around Ganghwa Island did not depart from the morning, so there was no special control.

An official from the Coast Guard said, "No fishing boats departed from Ganghwa Island this morning after the operation was over."
