[Global Times Comprehensive Report] The Guangdong Provincial Government recently sent a letter in reply to the "Proposal on Encouraging and Supporting Hong Kong Youth to Start Businesses and Work in the Greater Bay Area", specifying that the Guangdong Provincial Government will provide 30,000 opportunities for Hong Kong and Macao youth to go to the Mainland for exchanges within five years and 27,000 internships and jobs.

  "At present, the abolition of the employment permit system for Hong Kong and Macao residents in Guangdong is fully implemented, and the channels for Hong Kong and Macao residents to come to Guangdong for employment are unblocked." According to a report by Hong Kong's "Sing Tao Daily" on the 26th, the reply letter mentioned that it supports the Hong Kong SAR government to implement the "Great Bay Area Youth "Employment Plan", which provides living allowances of no more than RMB 1,000 per month to Hong Kong youths participating in the plan.

The letter of reply stated that it will fully implement the "Wings Spreading Program" special action for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan college students to practice, and will provide 15,000 internship positions and 12,000 jobs for Hong Kong and Macao youths within five years.

At present, 12 key Hong Kong and Macao youth innovation and entrepreneurship bases have been put into operation, driving 9 cities in the Pearl River Delta to build 57 Hong Kong and Macao youth innovation and entrepreneurship bases.

At the same time, the Guangdong Provincial Government will build 38 "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Homes" and actively introduce policies to provide housing security for young people in Hong Kong and Macau.

  The Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong recently conducted a public opinion survey on the “Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”.

The results show that although some citizens still have doubts about going directly to work and live in the Greater Bay Area, 34.1% of the interviewed citizens believe that the Greater Bay Area planning is a development opportunity for Hong Kong.

Among the industries with the most strength and potential in Hong Kong, 41.6% of the respondents believe that the Greater Bay Area plan will help Hong Kong develop the financial industry, and 35.9% believe that it will help the innovation and technology industries.

  Tan Ziqi, a Hong Kong student from Jinan University, said that with the rapid development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, there are more and more job opportunities and choices in the Mainland.

"I signed up for the 'Wings Spreading Program' this summer, learned more about the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and learned more about unknown areas."

Deng Jingyi, a Hong Kong student from City University of Hong Kong, believes that through the bridge built by the "Wings Spreading Program", she can experience the working atmosphere in the Mainland and provide more choices for her career planning.

Peng Kangzhu, a Hong Kong student from the School of Electrical Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, participated in the internship of China Southern Power Grid this year. He said that the 4-week internship not only allowed him to know a lot of electrical equipment, but also used the professional knowledge learned at school to analyze and solve practical problems, which was very fruitful.
