The satellite is mainly used in the fields of land census, urban planning, land title confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and mitigation.

At 15:37 on December 27, Beijing time, China used the Long March 4B carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center to successfully launch Gaofen 11 04 into space. The satellite entered the predetermined orbit smoothly, and the launch mission was a complete success.

　　The Long March 4B carrier rocket is a room temperature liquid three-stage carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

For different types of satellites, the Long March 4B carrier rocket can adopt a flexible launch plan, and has the ability to launch various types of satellites with different orbital requirements. It can implement one rocket, one satellite or multiple satellites. Up to 2.5 tons (track height 700 km).

　　This launch coincides with the coldest period of the year at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, where the lowest temperature can reach below minus 30 degrees Celsius. The rocket test team and the launch site have adopted measures such as air supply in the cabin, pasting of the insulation layer, and increasing the initial temperature of the propellant. A series of measures to ensure that the environmental conditions for rocket testing, fueling, and launch meet the requirements.

This mission is the final battle of the Chang-4 series of rockets this year. So far, the Chang-4 model has successfully completed 11 launch missions in 2022, and the average annual launch volume has exceeded double digits for two consecutive years.

　　This launch is also the fourth time that the Long March 4B carrier rocket and the Gaofen 11 satellite have joined hands. Previously, the rocket successfully placed the 01, 02, and 03 satellites of the Gaofen 11 in 2018, 2020, and 2021 respectively. into a predetermined track.

This mission is the 457th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles.
