After negative temperatures at the beginning of December, the sweetness made its big comeback in France for Christmas.

In Strasbourg, in the Grand Est, the thermometer is constantly playing yoyo, destabilizing the inhabitants of the town, lost between winter in the morning and spring in the afternoon.

After the cold, place in spring in December.

France had not experienced such mildness since 1997. But it must be said that in recent weeks, France has made the big difference in temperatures.

Thus, in the Grand Est, the thermometer went from -10 to 12 degrees, in just ten days.

Result, in Strasbourg, the inhabitants try to get used to seeing the temperatures double, even triple during the same day.

It is therefore difficult for Malvina to choose her clothes in the morning to go to work.

When the young woman leaves her home, her thermometer shows only 3 small degrees.

But at midday, it shows 12 degrees.

"It's Siberia in the morning, and the Sahara in the evening", laughs the Strasbourgeoise at the microphone of Europe 1.

Too cold or too hot

"We adapt suddenly. But in general we are wrong," she admits.

"In general, either in the morning we put on a T-shirt and then we struggle, or either we take too many layers of clothes and then, like me today, we are too hot", explains Malvina.

Not easy to prepare with a mercury 10 degrees above normal for the season.

A puzzle for parents, who prefer to “dress their children too much”, “than not enough”, recognizes Aline.

"So they always have the hat, the neckerchief, the packets of tissues, because the cold does not stop him", continues the mother.

Heating savings

"They are all sick at the moment. Flus, ear infections ... it does not stop", laughs at the microphone of Europe 1 Cécile, while her children sniffle.

"And then, turning on the radiators at home, it dries the air and suddenly, that's not terrible."

Radiators running... But only at night.

Because during the day, some people rather think of ventilating with such temperatures.

"I left leaving my windows open and having turned off the heating", underlines Léa.

A strategic choice with these temperatures.

When she got home, the Strasbourgeoise still had almost 18 degrees in her living room.

What to make big savings of gas and electricity.
