Seo Kyung-deok, a professor at Sungshin Women's University, asked why the Chinese media were silent about the story of an American woman who became a hot topic after losing 50kg by eating kimchi.

On the 27th, Professor Seo said on social media (SNS), "The Chinese media made claims such as 'Kimchi is Chinese' and 'Kimchi originated in China' when reports related to kimchi came out. "I'm not sending out any reaction," he said, "is it afraid?"

China's communist newspapers, the Global Times and the Observer Network, scrambled to report this when our national team sent kimchi to eat locally during the Qatar World Cup, and netizens commented claiming that "kimchi is Chinese."

African-American Yoon, a Cameroonian-American woman, said that thanks to her Korean grandmother, whom she met by chance at her bakery 15 years ago, she succeeded in dieting by eating Korean-based foods such as kimchi. He said in an interview with Yonhap News last month.

As if to prove this, the World Institute of Kimchi recently published a study showing that kimchi helps improve obesity or neuroinflammation caused by obesity.

The research team introduced, "This is the world's first case of revealing the mechanism of action that kimchi improves obesity by inducing the growth of useful microorganisms in the intestine."

Professor Seo analyzed, "The reason why American women are silent about the problem of obesity with kimchi and the research results of the World Institute of Kimchi is because they are afraid that the efficacy of Korean kimchi will become more known around the world."
