By the end of the decade, Volvo will only sell 100% electric models.
A rather tight timing which implies the rapid abandonment of certain versions, including the XC40 plug-in hybrid.
The latter will therefore give way to the fully electric XC40, whose range reaches 515 km.
In the last quarter of this year, the all-electric Volvo XC40s accounted for 50% of the brand's sales.
The objective is to reach 80% in 2025, and 100% in 2030. In recent months, the Belgian factory in Ghent, a pioneer in the electrification of the manufacturer, has greatly increased its production of 100% electric cars.
The latter currently represent 51% of the models assembled, led by the XC40 Recharge, followed by the C40 Recharge.
