While carrying out an identity check in Sarcelles (Val-d'Oise) on Friday evening, a police officer was attacked by a dog.

A few minutes earlier, the official had spotted a man in his thirties walking around with a hound who was not wearing a muzzle.

He therefore decided to check the identity of the master but the latter did not cooperate, reports

.

Faced with this refusal, the policeman grabbed the arm of the 30-something who started screaming.

It was then that the dog attacked the grievor and bit him in the leg.

One of his colleagues was forced to use an electric pulse gun against the hound who was not determined to let go.

Barely shaken, the dog then attacked his master.

He also grabbed his leg and bit him.

The police again used the stun gun to stop him.

Both victims were treated at the scene by firefighters.

The mastiff was placed in the pound.

He should probably be euthanized.
