In addition, they said that the number of letters sent to the residence in Veliky Ustyug does not change significantly from year to year.

This year, 40,000 more letters are expected, according to preliminary statistics, the press service added. 

On November 30, as RIA Novosti reported, boxes for letters to Santa Claus appeared in the branches of the Russian Post.

Russians can drop letters into them until December 31.

The Russian Post noted that last year about 170,000 letters with the wishes of children and adults were delivered to Veliky Ustyug alone, and several thousand more to other regions.
