A 41-year-old woman and her partner, a 39-year-old man, have died in a chalet located in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) due to possible inhalation of carbon monoxide, which could have originated from a fireplace that was on.

The emergency services have received the notice at 3:11 p.m. and firefighters from the Community of Madrid have traveled to the place.

When they arrived there was a very high concentration of carbon monoxide.

They

have accessed through the window on the façade and have found the dead couple on top of the bed, according to

Emergencias Comunidad de Madrid 112.

It was a relative of the woman who raised the alarm, since the woman had not answered the phone for several hours.

This person has notified a neighbor who has appeared at the door of the house and has said that from the outside

he saw the unconscious couple in a room of the house.

Subsequently, they have notified the firefighters who have discovered the two deceased people.

It is suspected that they could have been dead for eight to ten hours.

Members of the Municipal Police and the National Police of Alcalá de Henares have also traveled to the chalet.
