The UAE supports Ukraine with household electricity generators to face the harsh winter conditions and power outages

The United Arab Emirates announced today that it has dispatched about 2,500 generators to civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, which has affected energy infrastructure and led to power outages, to help them cope with the harsh winter conditions.

The aid includes 2,500 household electric generators, the power of each generator ranges from 3.5 kilowatts to 8 kilowatts, as these generators will contribute to providing energy for civilian homes, which will help alleviate the difficult living effects of families affected by the crisis.

Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said that this aid to Ukraine stems from the UAE's belief in the importance of human solidarity, especially in conflict situations, and is part of the country's continuous efforts to mitigate the humanitarian repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis.

The UAE will transfer about 1,200 electric generators to the Polish capital, Warsaw, today, and will transfer the rest of the generators in January.

This support comes within the humanitarian relief aid allocated by the UAE to civilians affected by the crisis in Ukraine, at a value of $100 million.

It should be noted that the UAE has taken the initiative since the beginning of the crisis to alleviate the suffering of those affected by it, as it has already flown about 8 planes carrying 360 tons of food and medical aid and ambulances for Ukrainian refugees in Poland, Moldova and Bulgaria, in response to the United Nations urgent appeal and response plan.
