After verifying the finding, the Civil Guard alerted the Specialized and Violent Crime Unit (UDEV) of the National Police, responsible for the investigation since the disappearance of the young woman, who had been living and working in Gijón for two years.

The remains were transferred by helicopter to this city, from where they were taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine, in Oviedo, for identification.
