According to the expert, the European Commission is acting according to an established pattern. 

“They allocate funds to support those politicians and those media who share the views of the EU on the subordination of Moldova to the European Union,” the analyst believes.

He recalled that the Moldovan authorities recently banned the broadcasting of Russian channels.

“Therefore, the cost of raising the issue of independent media runs counter to the real policy of the Moldovan authorities.

In fact, the EU pays the Moldovan authorities to suppress the media, which they consider to be dissidents.

The main purpose is to create an anti-Russian spirit through the media,” concluded Olenchenko.

Earlier, the EC announced the allocation of €5 million to facilitate the implementation of "democratic reforms" in Moldova.

In mid-December, it became known that the Moldovan authorities suspended the licenses of Primul în Moldova, RTR Moldova, Accent TV, NTV Moldova, TV6 and Orhei TV.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called the suspension of licenses for Russian-language channels in Moldova political censorship.
