A senior aide to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for abandoning what he described as ineffective sanctions and invalid United Nations resolutions, and moving to "more destructive" tools in dealing with Iran because of its supply of missiles and drones to Russia.

Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to President Zelensky's office, said - in a tweet on his Twitter page - that these measures may include "liquidating" Iranian factories and arresting exporters responsible for supplying these weapons to Russia.

Podolyak accused Tehran of flagrantly insulting international sanctions by planning to supply Russia with missiles and marches.

It is noteworthy that Kyiv has accused Tehran of providing Moscow with up to 1,700 Shahed-136 drones, which are capable of carrying ammunition.

It says that Russia has used it to strike targets in Ukraine since last September, while Iran denies these accusations.

The head of the Ukrainian intelligence service said in an interview published on Friday that Russia had already launched about 540 drones, on military and energy targets in Ukraine.
