After Christmas 2020, when people could not celebrate together in large groups, certain habits will stick around - at least if you ask the meal researcher Richard Tellström.

In a report, he compiled how the corona Christmas changed the habits of 125 people.

Many people say that they opted out of the less important elements on the Christmas table and some chose to eat something completely different, such as sushi or pizza.

Less celebration simply meant fewer dishes, but the classics still lived on.

Christmas ham, pickled herring and Jansson's temptation were the top three when Swedes in 2020 were asked to list what was most important on the Christmas table, the Food Companies' annual survey showed.

The grocery bag here to stay?

In today's economic crisis, the ready-made Christmas food box can become a permanent feature.

It grew in popularity when the parties were smaller and many did not want to crowd the grocery stores.

- It is often affordable compared to buying everything separately and cooking, says Tellström.

How have our Christmas habits changed?
