In his message addressed to the Christians of

Burkina Faso

, Cardinal Philippe Ouédraogo specifies that the year 2022 which is coming to an end will have been particularly painful because of the loss of human life.

He points out that community conflicts, stigmatization, marginalization, exclusion, injustice and poor governance constitute fertile ground for terrorism in Burkina Faso.

"

Let the guns therefore be silent in favor of dialogue for a fraternal living together

", invokes the Archbishop of Ouagadougou.

He addressed all citizens who, for him, must understand that the common enemy is the terrorist threat, and not people, religions or ethnic groups, before challenging civil society on its role at a time when the situation in the country is already alarming.

A sense of responsibility must guide every Burkinabe, especially the leaders of civil society organizations.

So let's not add other problems to the problems that already exist, but let's all work to strengthen security and stability

,” advises Cardinal Philippe Ouédraogo.

While waiting for the results from the authorities of the transition who have committed themselves to "

doing better

", the cardinal invites the Christian faithful to celebrate Christmas in sobriety, solidarity and sharing, not forgetting the populations in distress.
