Next year, the Swedish Migration Agency believes that approximately 15,000 will arrive.

But - they also say that if the war escalates, there could be upwards of 100,000 seeking protection here in Sweden.

An uncertainty that makes it difficult for municipalities, like Uddevalla, to prepare their reception.

Uddevalla municipality has so far received around 150 Ukrainian refugees.

- We simply have to be prepared for the uncertainty.

So we have a plan in case there are 40 people here one day, says Said Osman.

Civil society helps

In Uddevalla today there are a total of around 250 people who are asylum seekers or mass refugees.

150 of them are from Ukraine.

They live in apartments or in corridor accommodation but also with host families, among other things.

The help of volunteers is important.

- We have learned a lot by, among other things, collaborating with landlords at an early stage, civil society and various voluntary organisations.

It has gone without them, but it would not have been so good.
