Kate Middleton: Christmas would be very different without the Queen

Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales and wife of Prince William, paid tribute to Britain's late Queen Elizabeth at a service in Westminster Abbey, and said the family's first Christmas without the Queen would be very different, according to Reuters.

King Charles and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, were joined by his son William, his wife Kate and other members of the family;

To attend service in the chapel where Queen Elizabeth's funeral took place in September.

The service was held last week and will be broadcast tomorrow.

Kate, who became Princess of Wales after Charles acceded to the throne, hosted the event and dedicated it to the late Queen's memory of "all those who are unfortunately no longer with us".

"While we will feel very different this Christmas this year, we can still look back on the memories and traditions that brought us together," Kate said at the start of the service.

She added, "Christmas was close to Her Majesty the Queen's heart, as it is a time that brings people together and reminds us of the importance of faith, friendship and family, and to show empathy and mercy."

Queen Elizabeth died on September 8 at the age of 96, after assuming the throne for 70 years.
