Staffan Bergström lost his doctor's license earlier this fall because he helped a man with ALS take his own life, by providing the man with a narcotic-classified sleeping pill.

Attunda district court judges that the transfer of the drugs was illegal.

Staffan Bergström denies that he did anything criminal, but says that he handed over the drugs classified as narcotics.

Attunda district court sentences him to a suspended sentence and 60 daily fines (a total of SEK 15,000).

Bergström must also pay a fee to the crime victim fund of SEK 800.

Bergström tells P4 Gotland that he will appeal the verdict.
