• Foie gras, oysters, mulled wine… We all already know by heart the meal that we will find on our Christmas table.

Tested and approved time and time again.

But what about beyond our borders?

  • For this last episode of our series, meet Antoine, from the American grocery store Real McCoy in Paris, to prepare some eggnog.

  • Known as eggnog in North America, this milky drink, with eggs and cinnamon, is a Christmas staple.

If you ask Canadians and Americans what's on their Christmas table, they'll probably say turkey, gingerbread, beef, candy canes or maybe walnut pie. pecan.

But if there's one staple dish they all agree on, it's eggnog.

This dessert, which has existed since the 19th century and which is translated as eggnog, is relatively unknown on the old continent.

The most important thing to remember is that no chicken was harmed in making this delicious dessert, since it contains none.

And to do this, Antoine from the American grocery store Real McCoy came to lend us a hand.

To your aprons!

Sugar, spices and lots of goodies

The ingredients for eggnog are quite simple, as is its preparation.

Fresh eggs, sugar, a little spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), a pinch of salt and above all milk (but not from chicken, we remind you)!

You can also add rum or whiskey to the dessert.

Once everything is gathered in a salad bowl, a blender (or a whisk, if you have a strong wrist) will be the final touch before dipping your lips in the dessert.

Obviously (or not), your most beautiful Christmas sweater is a must!
