[I declare that the amendment to the budget for 2023 has been passed.]

The National Assembly passed next year's budget bill amounting to 638.7 trillion won this morning.

251 out of 273 lawmakers voted in favor.

While the ruling and opposition parties have not been able to narrow their differences on issues such as the relocation of the presidential office to Yongsan, the budget bill crossed the threshold of the National Assembly three weeks ahead of the legal deadline.

This is the longest delay in budget processing since the National Assembly Advancement Act went into effect in 2014.

[Ho-Young Joo / Representative of People's Power: The legal deadline has passed, but it is meaningful that the ruling and opposition parties passed the budget bill by agreement.]

[Hong-geun Park / Representative of the Democratic Party: The opposition and opposition parties step back one step at a time and compromise, so it is processed as an agreement It is fortunate that we were able to do this.]

The budgets for the Police Department of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and the Personnel Information Management Team of the Ministry of Justice were reflected with a 50% cut, and the budget for local love gift certificates, called the 'Lee Jae-myeong-pyo budget', was also reduced from the original plan to 350 billion won. .

In addition, a budget of 21.3 billion won was reflected in safety investment related to the Itaewon disaster.

The pros and cons were hotly debated in the process of handling the budget bill, but it passed the National Assembly as agreed by the ruling and opposition parties.

The corporate tax rate was lowered by 1%p in all areas of the tax base, and taxation on financial investment income and virtual assets was delayed by two years.

For the comprehensive real estate tax, the tax base for one homeowner per household will be eased from the current 1.1 billion won to 1.2 billion won, and for multi-homed people to 900 million won, respectively.

The National Assembly will also hold a plenary session again on the 28th to deal with bills that are set to sunset this year, such as the safe freight rate system for trucks.
