According to him, European countries will now buy energy resources at much higher prices.

Thus, the United States supplies European states with raw materials four times more expensive than they themselves consume.

The speaker of the State Duma added that ordinary citizens would pay for the adventurous policy of the leaders of the EU countries.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that work on preparing Russia's response to the oil price ceiling introduced by Western countries is close to completion.

Also, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the introduction of a ceiling on gas prices carries the risk of the EU losing supplies and redirecting them to other markets.
