The G7 pledges $32 billion to support Ukraine in 2023

The finance ministers of the Group of Seven major industrialized countries said in a joint statement today, Thursday, that the countries of the group have collected about $ 32 billion to finance and support Ukraine economically next year, and added that they are ready to provide more if necessary.

"We remain strongly committed to addressing Ukraine's urgent financing needs," the ministers said.

The ministers encouraged other donors to increase their contributions to the war-torn country.

The statement said the G7 pledge of $32 billion includes $19 billion from the European Union.

The statement from the ministers of the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Italy and Britain said Ukraine had received the full amount and is on or in the process of obtaining it.

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said support for Ukraine after the war in Russia's Ukraine remained a G7 priority.

Germany, which assumed the presidency of the group this year, will hand over the leadership to Japan for 2023.
