Before the election, the government parties, together with the Sweden Democrats, promised that the electricity subsidy would be paid out on November 1.

The high-cost protection would temporarily support households and businesses against sky-high electricity prices.

But that has not been the case.

The government has already announced that the electricity subsidy will be paid out to households during February 2023 in electricity areas 3 and 4 to which Jönköping County belongs.

On Thursday, Energy and Industry Minister Ebba Busch announced at a press conference that it is not clear what the electricity support for the companies will be.

- The only thing the entrepreneurs want to get an answer to is when, and we don't get that.

Then you could have thought about what you need to do to survive until that date, says Frida Boklund.

So there was no announcement when the electricity subsidy can be paid out - something that many had hoped for after yesterday's promise of an announcement before Christmas.

Criticism of delay

The government has received criticism because the promised electricity subsidy is later than expected - not least from the opposition.

The government is now again giving Svenska kraftnät the task of applying to the Energy Market Inspection to be allowed to pay general support to entrepreneurs.

This must be done by January 4, 2023 at the latest.
