Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Hossein Abdollahian said today, Wednesday, that he informed his French counterpart Catherine Colonna, during talks with her on the sidelines of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, that Tehran rejects what he called France's interference in his country's internal affairs.

In a tweet on Twitter, Abdullahian said that he discussed amending the French positions towards Tehran, and that the two sides agreed that the path of dialogue and diplomacy is the best, stressing that Iran is a strong and solid country, as he put it.

The Iranian foreign minister also said that he spoke cordially yesterday with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on the sidelines of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in the Dead Sea region in Jordan.

Abdullahian added - in a tweet on Twitter - that the Saudi foreign minister assured him of Riyadh's readiness to continue dialogue with Iran.

He indicated that he had also spoken to his counterparts in Oman, Qatar, Iraq and Kuwait, and confirmed that his participation in the conference was to confirm Iraq's support.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry has not yet responded to a Reuters request for comment.

On the other hand, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, said that Tehran will not back down in the face of pressure and threats, and accused the United States of inciting protests in his country.

"Iran will not back down in the face of pressure and threats," Qaani said, adding that "America and Israel are retreating in front of the resistance front in Palestine, Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and they suffer defeats."

Also in the Iranian issue, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna said that the risks of escalation are increasing due to the refusal to negotiate the restoration of the nuclear agreement, considering that Washington's decision to freeze nuclear negotiations with Tehran is irresponsible.
