Islamic preacher Dr. Tariq Al-Suwaidan - who was a guest on the "Mawazine" program - acknowledged the decline in the influence of new preachers on Arab youth and the great decrease in people's trust in each other, due to their positions in support of Arab regimes.

He said that the spread and influence of new preachers - a phenomenon that emerged in the late 1990s - was wide and significant about 15 years ago, because the media was open to them, but in recent years, the ruling regimes have harassed them, who have become afraid of any political, intellectual and cultural awareness. Although the new preachers do not aim to bring about a coup against these regimes.

In addition to the decline in their influence, the people's trust in some of the new preachers fell to the bottom, and they lost their credibility after they showed their true positions.

On the other hand, people's confidence in them increased, according to Al-Suwaidan, who concluded that those who sided with dictatorial regimes lost their credibility.

According to the Islamic preacher, some new preachers contributed to the making of the Arab Spring, and he says that he personally used to talk a lot about freedom and change and about the role of good leadership and bad leadership and others, and that his positions remained firm before, during and after the Arab uprisings, and his choice was always the choice to stand with the people, not He is with the regimes, and he is against 5 things: against political tyranny, against financial corruption, against the sheikhs of the sultans who root for dictatorship, and against any foreign interference in Arab and Muslim countries, and he is a sworn enemy of Zionism.

Al-Suwaidan stressed that the new preachers did not change their positions on the Arab revolutions, and whoever was with them remained so, and whoever was with the regimes remained aligned with them, and whoever did not have clarity in values, his positions were disturbed and he had a man here and a man there.

A report broadcasted by the "Mawazine" program stated that some of the new preachers followed the wave of the Arab Spring at its peak, then turned around, disguising their previous positions.

For example, Amr Khaled interacted with the youth revolution with enthusiasm and supported it, criticizing the regime of former President Hosni Mubarak, but he abandoned all his previous positions.

And Tariq Al-Suwaidan himself had announced his support for the Arab revolutions and then backed down, speaking of the setback of the Arab Spring that he opposes the Arab revolutions because they lead to ruin and destruction, and the same applies to Moez Masoud and Mustafa Hosni, who supported the revolutions and then retracted their positions.

While the preacher Ali Al-Jifri maintained his positions in support of the regimes from the beginning.

Traditional preachers lack the art of diction

Regarding the relationship of these preachers with the regimes, the researcher in the affairs of Islamic movements, Hisham Jaafar, explained in his intervention to the “Mawazine” program that the phenomenon of the new preachers suffered from what he called cases of early politicization, although it seemed to be a phenomenon depoliticized, stressing that the Arab uprisings revealed what was hidden in this The phenomenon, where symbols and preachers got involved in political action directly or indirectly, and became part of the political polarizations and conflicts.

The most dangerous thing was the extent to which these preachers were able to express the values demonstrated by the Arab uprisings, such as the value of freedom, justice, and the overwhelming presence of women.

The Islamic preacher refused that the phenomenon of new preachers, of which he is a part, had been employed by the Arab regimes, and he talked about himself, saying that there were no agreements between him and any governments, neither Arab nor foreign, and he did not exercise his role through the platforms of the regimes, and even the proposition that he presents It stems from the interests of Arab and Islamic peoples and societies.

The same opinion was expressed by the researcher in the affairs of Islamic movements in his intervention by saying that the regimes allowed the new preachers to be active in order to prevent extremism and prevent the transformation of the state of these preachers from religiosity in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood, ruling out the existence of a clear and drawn-up agreement between the two parties.

In another context, Al-Suwaidan praised the techniques used by the new preachers in addressing and communicating with the youth, and said that their role was major in the turnout of people, as the Egyptian Amr Khaled appeared in a different way than the usual, as well as the Kuwaiti Muhammad Al-Awadi and others, and they were distinguished in the art of recitation.

While the preachers and traditional scholars lack the art of speech and their form is not popular with people, and they do not take into account the changes in life, in addition to that some of them are submissive with the regimes, as evidenced by the fact that after the occurrence of the reaction to the Arab Spring, these people lined up with the tyrants, according to the Islamic preacher.

It is noteworthy that Al-Suwaidan is also the founder of the Civilizational Change Project, a professional trainer in the fields of management and leadership, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Creative Companies Group.
