At home in the small kitchen at Annelund in Piteå, Sandra Nordin works sorting out food bags for families who have applied for support before Christmas.

The organization has already helped over 400 children with Christmas presents and over 200 families with Christmas bags filled with food.

- Families who have never had to seek help before are now seeking help.

Many new families contact us, says Sandra Nordin.

Not everyone gets help

Helping Hands can make life a little easier for financially vulnerable families thanks to both private individuals and companies donating food and Christmas presents to the children.

But not all families receive help.

- No, we cannot help all families who apply.

Many live too far away and it becomes a cost issue, we do not have enough finances to be able to help all families.

But we do as much as we can to help, says Sandra Nordin.

Christmas party for 200 people

Helping Hands will organize a big Christmas party on December 21 at the bowling alley in Piteå for 200 people.

Participants will have the opportunity to try bowling and Santa will visit to hand out Christmas presents to the children.

During the Christmas party, there will also be coffee.

In the clip, Sandra Nordin talks about the many families with children who turn to Helping Hands for help.
