According to the official page of the Egyptian Public Prosecution on Facebook, “The Public Prosecution today ordered the defendant, Menna Shalaby, to be referred to criminal trial, to punish her for what was attributed to her of obtaining the essence of narcotic hashish with the intention of using in cases other than those authorized by law, and the Public Prosecution established evidence before her from testimony 5 Witnesses to the incident, the findings of the police investigations, and what was proven in the recordings of the monitoring machines at the place where they were seized, in addition to what resulted from the chemical laboratory’s examination of the seizures found in their possession.

The statement indicated that the authorities completed their investigations "after arresting the accused by listening to the testimony of 5 workers at Cairo International Airport, which resulted in the examination of the accused's bags with an X-ray machine during the completion of customs procedures, during which it appeared that there were organic condensates inside them, so they were thoroughly searched, which resulted in the finding of narcotic substances." With the bags, the accused was arrested, and the drugs in her possession were seized, and the Public Prosecution witnessed, with the recordings of the monitoring machines, the accused’s entry into the customs area and the seizures were found inside her bags, and the chemical laboratory report proved that the seizures contained two narcotic substances, which are hashish and cannabis, which are listed in the first schedule of the drug law schedules. .

Menna Shalaby returned at the end of last November from the United States of America, when customs inspectors at Cairo International Airport seized about 30 packages of different shapes and sizes, containing marijuana, in her bags, and a report was issued on the incident and referred to the Public Prosecution, which is the competent authority to adjudicate in the matter. the case.

According to the authorities, the Public Prosecution proved that the bags, bottles, pens, and pieces of sweets that were seized were stuffed with marijuana, which prompted the customs authorities to subject them to a full and self-inspection, without the search yielding anything.

The crisis of the Egyptian actress came to postpone her theatrical show "Hour of Fortune" - which was directed by Ashraf Zaki - in which she was supposed to participate in the Riyadh season.
