Commander of the Finnish Armed Forces spoke about the capabilities of the country's army

In light of the armed conflict in Ukraine, Finland has significant defense capabilities, he stressed.

“Per capita, we probably have the most firepower in Europe,” Kivinen told Bloomberg.

The general added that Finland currently fulfills the criteria for NATO membership by allocating 2% of its GDP to the country's defense.

Earlier, Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said that Helsinki does not ask for the deployment of NATO nuclear weapons on its territory.

The Finnish government has also submitted a draft law on joining the North Atlantic Alliance to parliament.
