Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu has informed President Isaac Herzog that he has succeeded in forming the next government, the presidency said Wednesday evening minutes from a crucial deadline.
“I have it,” Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted in Hebrew a few minutes before his deadline, at 11:59 p.m. local time (9:59 p.m. French time), to announce the formation of the next government.
The Israeli presidency, for its part, confirmed to AFP that Benjamin Netanyahu had "called" Isaac Herzog "to inform him" of this news on time.
