“The measures to ensure the security of the Union State announced during the meeting of the presidents of Russia and Belarus are a forced reaction to the purposeful development of the long-term practice of the so-called joint nuclear missions of NATO,” Kommersant quoted Zakharova as saying.

According to her, Moscow and Minsk are implementing retaliatory measures in strict accordance with the NPT.

She noted that the parties have no intention of physically equipping Belarusian systems with nuclear warheads or deploying such warheads on the territory of the country.

Earlier, Belarus put the S-400 air defense systems and the Iskander missile systems, transferred by Russia, on combat duty.
