An incident occurred on Monday in a shop located in the city center of Lisieux (Calvados).

The false ceiling of the store collapsed in broad daylight, reports

.

Fortunately, the establishment was closed at that time.

No injuries are therefore to be deplored.

It was when the store opened at 1 p.m. that the damage was discovered.

Alerted, the firefighters went to the scene to inspect the building.

They also wanted to "remove doubt" about the presence of cracks inside.

Finally, any risk of collapse was ruled out by the emergency services.

However, a municipal decree imposed the closure of the store "due to danger".

The latter "may reopen after the repairs and the favorable opinion of the firefighters", indicated the first deputy mayor.

The shop's seven employees are on technical unemployment pending reopening.
