A security guard at a sports store located in Saint-Martin-d'Hères (Isère) was stabbed on Monday.

The facts took place in the early afternoon, around 2 p.m.

, the victim was attacked by a man suspected of having stolen several football shirts.

The security guard reportedly spotted the alleged thief who wanted to leave the store with shirts he hadn't paid for.

As he tried to stop him, the man allegedly stabbed him in the arm.

He then allegedly fled.

An open investigation

Alerted, the firefighters quickly went to the scene to help the employee.

He suffered from a major wound in his arm.

He was taken care of by the emergency services on the spot and then transported to the hospital.

An investigation was opened by police.
