On March 7, a 49-year-old woman will be tried in Strasbourg for animal abuse.

She faces a fine of 750 euros for acts of cruelty to her dog, narrowly saved last Wednesday by the national police.

She had been alerted by the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) in the Alsatian capital.

In one video, a 14-year-old Jack Russell was abused.

"In record time, less than two hours after the report", the police "managed to locate the animal and to remove it from its mistress", reported in a press release the Departmental Directorate of Public Security. (DDSP) of Bas-Rhin.

“The dog was thin and very tired.

"In the accommodation, the police did not find water or food available to the animal," she said.

Since then, the Jack Russell, whose vital prognosis was engaged because of “several untreated illnesses” was able to be saved and taken in by a foster family “composed of a policeman and a national police reservist”.
