A few days before Christmas, the Maine-et-Loire Secours Populaire branch is struggling to cope with the shock.

One of his trucks, parked in a parking lot in Angers, was vandalized.

The volunteers of the association, who were to embark on the tour of the supermarkets, discovered this unpleasant surprise, Monday, around 7 am.

“The truck was partly boned,” explains Ludovic Cadeau, the secretary general of the Federation of Maine-et-Loire, to

Ouest-France

.

The criminals stole several body parts, as well as the dashboard of the vehicle.

For this, they broke the doors and cut electrical wires.

Consequence: the truck will have to remain immobilized for several weeks.

"This will complicate the task of Secours Populaire, which is already experiencing a particularly tense period", laments the Secretary General.

A complaint has been filed with the police.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred.

According to Ludovic Cadeau, Secours Populaire trucks have been attacked four times since the beginning of the year.

“One truck less means food that will be lacking to feed the most vulnerable people,” he regrets.
