Local sources reported to Al-Jazeera that the Turkish army targeted with heavy artillery the concentrations of what is known as the Syrian Democratic Forces, while Moscow expressed a new position on the "planned Turkish ground operation in Syria."
Local sources told Al-Jazeera that the Turkish army bombed sites of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the villages of "Saida, Jadida, Mu'allaq, and the international road (M4 / M4) north of Raqqa.
Al-Jazeera sources indicated that the bombing also targeted the sites of those forces in the villages of Al-Kouzeliya, Tal Al-Laban and Al-Taweelah in the countryside of Tal Tamr, north of Al-Hasakah.
In the same context, media sites loyal to what is known as the Syrian Democratic Forces said that Turkish artillery bombardment targeted the villages of "Zour Maghar, Al-Bayada, Jarqali, and Solan" in the vicinity of Ain Al-Arab on the Syrian-Turkish border.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish bombing comes in the context of a military operation announced by Ankara on the 19th of last month under the title "Sword/Claw" against what is known as the Syrian Democratic Forces, which Turkey sees as an extension of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is on its terrorist list.
For its part, the Russian Foreign Ministry said today, Saturday, that "the planned Turkish ground operation in Syria is a premature step."
