After a week of high voltage and maximum institutional tension, a mass bath for Pedro Sánchez.

The President of the Government has staged his first meeting after the repeal of sedition and the reduction of penalties for embezzlement and the change in the election of the magistrates of the Constitutional Court.

He has done it this Saturday in Valencia, just a few hours after members of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) have attacked him in a harsh statement, and after placing Alberto Núñez Feijóo the

PSOE

directly outside the Constitution.

Sánchez, however, not only has not wanted to reduce the number of decibels in the confrontation, but has once again lashed out directly against the Constitutional magistrates, who precisely have the resources of the

PP

and

Vox

on the table to try to stop the process. Legislative reform of the Penal Code.

And, against this backdrop, the President of the Government has regretted that the PP is, on the one hand, asking for early elections and, on the other, maneuvering to keep the members considered related in the Judiciary practically for life.

"When they win," he said in reference to the PP's request for elections, "there are no more early or delayed ones because those they name must be kept in office for life."

"It is what they do in the General Council of the Judiciary and what they do now in the Constitutional: they block the renewal and, if for that they need to block Parliament, they go and do it," insisted Sánchez, who has insinuated that Feijóo, Like

Pablo Casado

, he is a hostage to the toughest postulates of the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

"This is how the right understands democracy," Sánchez added on the same day that a group of members of the CGPJ has branded their criticism of the Judiciary as "irresponsible", in what supposes a "delegitimization of the institutions before the citizenry".

But the Prime Minister has gone further by questioning the legitimacy of the TC to decide on the resources that affect socialist laws such as euthanasia, labor reform or abortion.

"The magistrates of the TC make very important decisions," he acknowledged, to warn that, consequently, "it is reasonable that these decisions be made with full legitimacy and in full power of their powers, and not with an expired mandate, which is what what do we have today".

In this sense, he has stressed that "the PP is the only one that violates the Constitution" effectively blocking this renewal and trying to paralyze the government reform that actually alters the majorities necessary to appoint the magistrates of the TC.

In this line, Sánchez, has once again assumed the defense of democracy alone against the alleged plot of the political and judicial right, in an act with a municipalist key that has given rise to start it with some significant verses by the Valencian poet Vicent Andrés Estellés, which in the current context may well have another reading:

Assumiràs la veu d'un poble / I serà la veu del teu poble

("you will assume the voice of a people / and it will be the voice of your people").

In fact, he has considered that, despite the repeal of sedition and the reduction of penalties for embezzlement to favor the pro-independence leaders

,

"the Constitution will be complied with and the Catalan problem will be resolved."

What's more, he has even appropriated the Magna Carta: "We gave birth to the Constitution 40 years ago when the right was involved in something else."

The minority member of the coalition, for its part, raises the pressure within the government.

United We can

demand greater forcefulness against the "reactionism" formed by the "political, judicial and media right" and stop the "judicial coup against the legislative power" forcefully.

This Friday, Podemos already demanded that the TC suspend the plenary session on Monday because the vote in Congress has already taken place.

The leader of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights, has called as a government to "undertake" all the actions that are pertinent to defend the legality and constitutional order of the attacks to which they are subjected.

In a harsh intervention in the State Citizen Council (CCE) of the formation, he has considered that "any challenge to popular sovereignty that Congress embodies is a challenge to the democratic and constitutional order", for which reason "the Government is obliged to face it with all the instruments of the rule of law".

In the eyes of the purple secretary general, the right wing and its terminals have hardened and "intensified" their "coup strategy" in recent weeks.

The celebration of the plenary session of the Constitutional Court on Monday and what it may come to mean is the definitive proof, explains Belarra, that there are "reactionary sectors also in the Judiciary."
